Former minister Ghulam Sarwar arrested
Former minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Ghulam Sarwar Khan was arrested from Islamabad on Wednesday morning.
Sarwar was wanted for his alleged involvement in the violent protests of May 9, that broke out after Imran Khan’s arrest. He had also been nominated in the case of the attack on the judicial complex when Imran Khan was appearing for a hearing.
His son, Mansoor Hayat, and nephew, Ammar Siddique, were also taken into custody. Cases against the three have been filed in Islamabad, Taxila and Rawalpindi.
Police had been making raids regularly for the past month to arrest Sarwar. His offices and petrol pump in Taxila had also been sealed. He was finally nabbed when he went to F8 for a meeting.
