Pakistan all-format captain Babar Azam is in prime form with the bat as he is on the verge of breaking multiple records.

The home series against New Zealand, which includes five T20Is and the same number of ODI, would be the perfect opportunity to add more records to his name.

For the first record, Pakistan just need to win the T20I series against the Blackcaps. This would make Babar the most successful T20I captain of all time.

Currently, England’s Eion Morgan holds the record with 42 victories to his name as captain. Babar is fourth on the list with Australia’s Aaron Finch, with 40 victories each. Interestingly, Both Morgan and Finch have retired from international cricket.

The second record that he would be targeting is to become the first Pakistan batter to complete 3,500 runs in T20I cricket. He is just 145 runs shy from achieving the feat.

Currently, Babar is unstoppable in ODIs as he is on the brink of dethroning South Africa legend Hashim Amla from multiple records.

In the next seven innings, he just needs to score one more hundred, which will make him the fastest batter to complete 18 centuries in ODI cricket. Doing so, he would surpass Hasim Amla, who currently achieved the feat in 102 innings followed by Virat Kohli, who scored the same number of tons in 119 innings.

Moreover, If Babar scores 187 runs in seven innings then he will become the fastest batter to complete 5,000 runs in ODIs. Amla achieved the milestone in 101 innings. Kohli and West Indies great Sir Vivian Richards managed to score the same number of runs in 114 innings.

Lastly, Babar is just 136 away from completing 12,000 runs in international cricket. He has scored 3,696 runs in Tests, 4,813 in ODIs, and 3355 in T20Is.
