BBC Punjabi Twitter account withheld in India
The Twitter account of BBC Punjabi news has been withheld in India as they try to nab pro-Khalistan activist Amritpal Singh.
A message saying “@bbcnewspunjabi’s account has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand” showed up on the page.
It is reported that the account was suspended in the country due to its anti-India propaganda.
It is not the first account that was suspended over the issue. Several social accounts of journalists and news portals have suffered the same fate as India’s Punjab police is trying to catch Singh.
Those accounts blocked included that of journalists, lawyers, and rights activists.
In January this year, the Indian government blocked the BBC’s documentary about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Gujarat riots of 2002.
