The court on Thursday fined Rs250,000 to a doctor for selling an ineffective diet plan to a client.

A petition was filed by Abduljabbar Lagari in the Karachi court, in which the petitioner argued that he bought a diet plan from a doctor to reduce the weight of his mother, and also paid the full amount of the plan of Rs38,000.

The petitioner said that when she started using the plan, his mother started suffering pain in the stomach. He complained to the doctor, but despite this, their money was not returned.

The doctor had given a guarantee to lose 10 kg of weight in a month after using this diet plan, the petitioner said. They bought the plan in September 2022.

After the hearing, the court imposed a fine of Rs250,000 on Dr. Nida, which she submitted to the court.
