Family: Karachi teen murdered for stopping fight at education center
The parents and siblings of a teenager killed allegedly following a quarrel with fellow students at an education center in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal have announced that they will hold a protest demonstration with the victim’s body outside the Karachi Press Club on Saturday (today).
Last night, Ahsan Miwati, was shot dead at an education center in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area over a quarrel with two of his fellow students. Both accused escaped after the shooting. The victim was first taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later to the Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The accused have been identified as Talha and Luqman in the FIR. Police say they were investigating the motives behind the murder but there was a possibility that the quarrel had something to do with a girl.
The sister of the victim told Aaj News that the real fight was between the accused Luqman and Talha and that Ahsan had stopped them from fighting at the education center. His intervention angered both young men who threatened the victim with dire consequences, she said.
The deceased’s father is a vegetable vendor while Luqman’s and Talha’s fathers run tea shops. According to the police, both teashops and the houses of the accused have been left abandoned following the murder.
Police raids were conducted in different areas throughout the night to arrest the accused.
