Sindh announces public holiday on Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary
The Sindh government has announced a partial holiday on December 26 and a general holiday on December 27 in the province, according to a notification issued by the office of the chief secretary of Sindh.
Government employees of the Christian community were given Christmas holiday on December 26. On December 27, a public holiday has been declared across Sindh to mark the death anniversary of former prime minister and PPP leader Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated on that day in 2007.
According to the declaration from Sohail Rajpoot’s office, the partial holiday on December 26 and the provincial holiday on December 27 will not be applicable to government employees engaged in compulsory services, corona emergency duty and rehabilitation of flood victims.
