PM Shehbaz calls on Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, discusses current political situation
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain at his residence in Lahore on Sunday.
The premier inquired about PML-Q chief’s health and presented a bouquet of flowers to Chaudhry Shujaat.
The meeting came a day after PTI chief Imran Khan announced to dissolve Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab assemblies on Friday to pave the way for fresh elections.
“We will go to National Assembly and demand with NA speaker to accept our resignations,” the former premier had said in a video address alongside Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz during his meeting with the PML-Q chief discussed the current political situation of the country.
In the meeting, PM Shehbaz apprised Shujaat of the coalition government’s efforts to revive the economy and provide relief to the people. The PML-Q chief lauded PM Shehbaz’s efforts to revive the economy.
Shujaat and PM Shehbaz agreed to strengthen mutual cooperation in the future to get the country out of the problems it is facing.
Federal Ministers Tariq Bashir Cheema, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan were also present in the meeting.
