Najam Sethi likely to replace Ramiz Raja as PCB Chairman
It looks like days of Ramiz Raja’s reign as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are numbered as several reports suggest change in command is in order.
The development comes after former chairman Najam Sethi met PCB patron-in-chief Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday.
The meeting took place in Lahore, where matter pertaining to the restoration of the 2014 PCB Constitution and departmental cricket came under discussion.
According to ARY News, Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) has already forwarded a summary to the premier regarding the appointment of Sethi as new PCB chief.
Raja came into power on September 13, 2021 during Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)’s tenure. He was appointed by then PM Imran Khan.
Sethi has served the board as its chairman thrice in 2013, 2014 and 2017.
He stepped down from the post after Imran Khan took charge as Prime Minister and announced his successor, former ICC President Ehsan Mani.
