Imam ul Haq ruled out from Karachi Test against England

Pakistan have suffered another injury setback as opener Imam ul Haq ruled out from the Karachi Test on Friday.

The development was confirmed by Pakistan captain Babar Azam during the press conference at the National Bank Cricket Arena (NBCA).

“I think Imam won’t be available tomorrow,” said Babar without giving any details of the opener’s injury.

The left-hander was taken to the hospital for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans on the third day of Multan Test.

As per the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) he was feeling unease in his right hamstring.

During his absence, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan opened the second innings for the home side along with Abdullah Shafique.

However, he returned to bat on day three and scored a fighting 60.

Earlier, pacers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf ruled out from the three-match series due to injuries.

In a statement, the board confirmed that Naseem had a niggle in the bowling shoulder, while Rauf, who made his debut against England during the Rawalpindi Test suffered a blow on his leg while fielding.

The team management has not requested replacement for either players.
