PTI long march inches towards Azadi Chowk in Lahore
PTI’s long march, or the “Haqeeqi Azadi March” as party faithful refer to it, has departed from its starting point Liberty Chowk and is currently at Kalma Chowk. Imran Khan is leading the march.
The march is headed to Azadi Chowk next via the Ferozepur Road.
Imran Khan is atop a container which is surrounded by a sea of workers.
The long march has covered less than two kilometers in two hours, which means it may be a while for Imran Khan to reach Ichhra.
According to the route, after Kalma Chowk, the protesters will head Ichhra, then Cordoba Chowk and arrive at Data Darbar via Jain Mandir, and then MAO College via Lytton Road.
The long march will encamp between Azadi Chowk and Shahdara tonight and will leave from Shahdara tomorrow for Kamoke, which is around 40 kms away.
It will then depart Gujranwala on Monday morning and end at Sialkot at night.
On Wednesday the participants will leave Gujarat and reach Jhelum by night. On Thursday the convoy is scheduled to leave Jhelum and arrive in Rawalpindi.
Rallies in other cities
The PTI rally in Karachi began from the party headquarters on Shahrah-e-Faisal and is now at its destination Teen Talwar in the upscale Clifton area.
In Bara, under the leadership of PTI leader Iqbal Afridi and Shafiq Afridi, a rally was taken out from Minar Masjid to Khyber Chowk. The participants of the rally raised slogans against the government.
