Malala visits college in Karachi’s Azizabad
KARACHI: Nobel Peace laureate Malala Yousafzai visited Government Elementary College in Azizabad area of Karachi on Tuesday.
Prominent singer Shehzad Roy and other important personalities also joined Yousafzai to visit the college in tight security.
Tight security arrangements were made by police, rangers, and intelligence agencies.
She spent more than an hour in the college and talked to the college administration about promoting education and educational institutes in Pakistan.
Malala Yousafzai along with her parents arrived in Karachi on Qatar Airways flight 604 to visit flood-hit areas and raise international awareness about the extent of the massive calamity.
She was provided tight security upon her arrival at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
This is her second visit to her home country after the Taliban attacked her in October 2012. She visited Pakistan in 2018 before the general elections.
Yousafzai was shot in the head by a Pakistani Taliban in her native town of Swat for campaigning for girls’ education.
Soon after that, she was flown to the United Kingdom where she received medical treatment and continues to reside.
