Former finance minister Ishaq Dar’s return might have improved the market sentiment, but it has prompted PTI chief Imran Khan to lament the state of justice and inaction of “protectors” of the country.

“Such a fraud like Ishaq Dar has arrived here after this NRO and deal,” he said while addressing a Ulema o Mushaikh Convention in Peshawar. “And, its unfortunate that neither our justice system nor our those people who become protectors stopped his way. And who will stop him [Dar], your brother Imran Khan will stop his way.”

Dar, who serves as the finace czar in Nawaz Sharif led cabinet, returned to Pakistan on Monday after five years of exile. His return became more than expected when his predecessor Miftah Ismail verbally resigned as the finance minister during a meeting with Nawaz Sharif in London.

Imran continued his tirade against the top two ruling parties of the country, PPP and PML-N. The PTI chief alleged that the leaders of such two parties did not care for the public. He further compared Pakistan with developed nations, adding that rule and law and a welfare state were important.

He accused JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman of “selling religion” as the latter was “ready” to issue fatwa in return of getting a position.

The former prime minister claimed that the absconder, Nawaz Sharif, while sitting in London was taking decisions on Pakistan’s future.

“These audio leaks will reveal a corrupt person is taking the decisions about the country,” he said, adding that Dar flew away from country in the prime minister jet the accountability court summoned in him in a case.

“Now, Pakistan’s finance is being handed over to a person who was a fugitive and out of Pakistan for five years. He was afraid and now has reached Pakistan after making a deal,” Imran said.

‘Two families’

The former premier, who was in Peshawar for a day, had many engagements in the city as he also addressed the workers convention.

“Pakistan has been unfortunate that these two families kept getting richer while the public still suffers,” he said in an apparent reference to Zardari and Sharif families – the two families leading two mainstream parties of the country.

He warned that petrol price would further increase, adding that it was difficult for the salaried class to makes ends meet. Imran described Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja “dishonest” person and quoted PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz as saying that the CEC has decided to disqualify in gifts case.

“More things will come to light,” he warned while speaking about the audio leak.
