Pakistan to face England, Afghanistan in ICC T20 WC 2022 warm-up fixtures
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan would be facing England and Afghanistan in the warm-up fixtures of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 to be played across Brisbane and Melbourne.
The official warm-up fixtures for all 16 teams of the T20 World Cup 2022 were announced on Thursday. The first round teams would commence their preparations in Melbourne, with matches split between the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Junction Oval from October 10-13.
The teams starting in the Super 12 stage would play all warm-up fixtures over two match days in Brisbane on October 17 and 19. These matches would be played at The Gabba and Allan Border Field.
The first warm-up fixture would feature two-time champions West Indies against United Arab Emirates at Junction Oval on October 10, with each of the First Round teams to play two warm-up matches each.
Hosts Australia would play their only official warm-up fixture against India on October 17 at The Gabba. In addition to Australia, world number one India would face New Zealand on October 19, also at The Gabba.
Pakistan would play its warm-up matches against England and Afghanistan at The Gabba on October 17 and 19, respectively.
The warm-up fixtures would not be open to spectators, however the four warm-up matches at The Gabba on October 17 and 19 would be broadcast live. As per previous ICC events, the warm-up fixtures would not carry official T20 International status.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 begins on October 16 when Sri Lanka faces Namibia at Kardinia Park Stadium in Geelong.

October 10- West Indies v UAE, Junction Oval; Scotland v Netherlands, Junction Oval; Sri Lanka v Zimbabwe, MCG,
October 11- Namibia v Ireland,
October 12- West Indies v Netherlands, MCG, October
13- Zimbabwe v Namibia, Junction Oval; Sri Lanka v Ireland, Junction Oval Scotland v UAE, MCG,
October 17- Australia v India, The Gabba; New Zealand v South Africa , Allan Border Field; England v Pakistan, The Gabba;
October 19- Afghanistan v Bangladesh, Allan Border Field; Afghanistan v Pakistan, The Gabba; Bangladesh v South Africa, Allan Border Field and New Zealand v India, The Gabba.
