Nawaz Sharif urges nation to unite for helping flood victims
Former premier and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo Nawaz Sharif said that it was not the time for politics but was the time to provide relief to the flood-hit people.
the former premier in a video message said that PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz was also visiting to review the ongoing relief work and personally visit flood-hit areas.
He said that it was an opportunity to review actions as thousands of people had lost their lives and millions of houses have been destroyed, adding that floods caused widespread destruction in Pakistan.
The PML-N supremo appealed to affluent individuals to generously support flood affectees and directed party MNAs and workers to leave all their work and start helping the flood victims.
Nawaz acknowledged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s efforts saying that the prime minister’s efforts to help the flood victims are worthy of praise.
“Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif together with the nation should hold the hands of the suffering humanity,” he added
He said that the victims will not be left alone, “this is not the time for politics, but to help the victims and heal their wounds.”
Nawaz has also appealed to set up relief camps for flood affectees and has asked to provide them with tents to ensure shelter.
