Gold price remains unchanged despite depreciation in rupee
The price of gold remained unchanged at Rs126,115 in the local market on Friday despite the depreciation in the rupee against dollar.
According to All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of 10 gram gold also remained stagnant at Rs126,115.
However, the price of gold in international market decreased by $19 and was sold at $1,745 against its sale at $1,764 a day earlier.
The international gold market, while still under pressure, is off its session lows in initial reaction to the latest inflation data.
Markets are now waiting to hear from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, who is expected to provide investors with a hawkish outlook on monetary policy at this year’s central bank symposium at Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Meanwhile, the price of per tola and ten-gram silver also remained unchanged at Rs1,540 and Rs1,320.30 respectively.
