Karachi: The Sindh High Court has extended the restraining order against the autopsy and exhumation of televangelist Aamir Liaquat by another 10 days.

The court issued the restraining order while hearing a plea by the Liaquat’s heirs on the issue of exhumation and post-mortem.

It instructed the petitioners to approach the sessions court against the order of the judicial magistrate.

The PTI lawmaker and prominent television personality died in Karachi on June 9 under mysterious circumstances. Later, the judicial magistrate East ordered the post-mortem on June 18 on a petition filed by the citizen.

Daniya Shah, Liaquat’s third wife, wants the post-mortem to take place. His ex-wife Bushra Iqbal and the two children that they had together do not want the post-mortem.

Daniya Shah had approached the Sindh High Court to become a party in the case on July 19.
