Surprise for John Wick 4 fans, as director releases first teaser
First look for the much-awaited action-packed movie ’’John Wick 4 gets fans excited.
Tim Miller, Andrew Stanton, and Chad Stahelski joined Steve Weintraub for a discussion of their films and upcoming projects during Collider’s Directors on Directing panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Stahelski stunned audience members at the panel with a sneak peek at the future action movie, even though John Wick 4 is still a year away. Fans saw the first poster, which has Keanu Reeves front and centre with nunchucks, in addition to the new footage.
The action-packed teaser is roughly a minute long and shows snippets of Reeves training and preparing himself for a thrilling fight. The teaser also includes a shot of him using the nunchucks featured on the poster revealed at the Comic-Con. The trailer ends with Fishburne’s Bowery King blowing out a matchstick, which seemingly connects to the first image that was shared earlier in the week.
The first John Wick movie came out in 2014 and the franchise has been going strong since. Reeves appeared as the titular John Wick, a former hitman who is drawn back into the criminal underground after Russian criminals break into his home and kill his puppy, Daisy, a gift from his late wife. A fair enough reason to return to killing people.
The release date for John Wick 4 was originally set for May 2022, but several delays pushed it back to March 24, 2023.
In his upcoming performance as Wick, Reeves will rejoin his former Matrix co-star Laurence Fishburne. The cast also includes Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgard, Rina Sawayama, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown.
