Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan said that if something undemocratic was done and the people’s mandate was stolen during tomorrow’s Punjab chief minister election, then the country would head towards Sri Lanka-like situation.

“People’s reactions will not be in my control. The nation is now aware and they will not sit silently,” the ousted premier said while addressing the party workers through video link on Thursday.

Earlier in a series of tweets Imran Khan had appealed to the people to come out on the roads to protect the mandate they had given to the PTI from being stolen.

The PTI chief alleged that PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N’s Shahbaz Sharif had been trying to buy people to win Punjab chief minister election scheduled to be held tomorrow (Friday).

Imran Khan accused Zardari and Shehbaz of using their wealth to buy the loyalties of PTI MPAs ahead of the election for the Punjab chief minister.

Earlier on Wednesday, Imran Khan in a tweet had alleged that Zardari was offering Rs500 million to PTI’s Punjab Assembly lawmakers to buy their votes.

The PTI chairman during his video speech lashed out at Chief Election Commissioner saying that he had never seen a dishonest CEC like Sikander Sultan Raja. “We will not contest the general elections under the leadership of the incumbent chief election commissioner, who has used every tactic to defeat PTI in the election,” he said.

“We are not only contesting the Punjab by-elections against the 12 political parties but we are also fighting against the administration, state machinery and the election commission.”

The ousted premier said that the ECP didn’t allow the verification of votes, while the historic horse-trading was witnessed in the Senate election adding there was a difference of 50 votes in PK-7 but the election commission stopped the re-counting.

He said that PTI had its vote bank in all four provinces but a transparent election was impossible in the presence of the current CEC.
