LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has granted security bail to Zaheer Ahmed, husband of Dua Zehra, and restrained the police from arresting him till July 14.

Zaheer had approached the Lahore High Court to avoid arrest. Justice Aalia Neelum heard the bail application.

The court inquired why Zaheer had taken so long to apply for bail when the FIR had been registered on April 16. The lawyer argued that the case was recently being re-investigated and thus, Zaheer was in danger of being arrested.

The lawyer further said that the court should grant security bail so that interim bail could be obtained from the concerned court.

After hearing the arguments, the court granted security bail to Zaheer and restrained the police from arresting him till July 14.
