Six suspected terrorists have been killed in the ensuing exchange of fire with the security forces in Zamran range, near Paroom in Balochistan, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Sunday.

“Security forces conducted an operation on the information of the presence of terrorists belonging to Baloch Liberation Front in Zamran Range,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

It said that these suspected terrorists were allegedly involved in attacks on posts of security forces and were also involved in the recent planting of improvised explosive device (IED) on convoys of security forces in Paroom and surrounding areas of Panjgur.

“In addition, arms and ammunition have also been recovered, which were intended to be used by the terrorists for disrupting peace and security in the area,” the statement added.

“Security Forces, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.”

A day earlier, the ISPR had claimed that during an intense exchange of fire, the security forces killed a suspected terrorist, later identified as Zia Ullah, in Miran Shah, North Waziristan District.

Weapon and ammunition were also recovered from the suspected terrorist, it said in a statement.

The ISPR said that a soldier of the Pakistan army, Naik Zahid Ahmed, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.
