Rupee gains some ground against US dollar
The rupee on Thursday made a marginal recovery against the US dollar in the inter-bank market ahead of the next fiscal budget with the expectations that the government would unveil a progressive consolidative fiscal budget.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the local currency appreciated by 75 paisas or 0.37% against the US dollar and settled at Rs 200.77.
The local currency registered a decline of Rs 2.86 against the US dollar during the first four days of the current week.
The currency has managed to recover from its all-time low of Rs202.83 after the government took steps to pacify economic sentiments by taking various measures, including the petrol price hike.
