Islamabad will again be sealed to block PTI long march
ISLAMABAD: The government has once again decided to seal Islamabad in view of the long march call from the former ruling party, PTI, by deploying containers at the roadside of main roads in the federal capital.
“As many as 17,000 security personnel will be deployed in the federal capital,” the Islamabad police spokesperson was quoted as saying in a press release.
Containers are already in place at various locations around the Red Zone, which hosts the parliament house, president house, and embassies. More areas will be sealed by deploying containers on the directives of the security agencies. So far containers are in place at roadsides at Faizabadabad, D-Chowk, NADRA Chowk, Margalla Road, and Motorway Chowk.
The security personnel would be given tear gas, water cannon, and prisoner vans. The final decision will be taken by the district administration.
