No specific legislation on agenda in first regular NA session after PM Shehbaz assumed office
The first regular session of the National Assembly after the coalition government under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assumed office will commence on Monday (today) under the chair of Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf with no specific legislation on the agenda.
President Dr Arif Alvi has called the session of the Lower House of the Parliament under Article 54-A of the Constitution at 4:00 pm on Monday.
The speaker will face challenges in the session as 123 PTI lawmakers have en masse resigned from the Parliament following the oath of PM Shehbaz as the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan. However, the speaker has not accepted their resignations yet.

As per the 14-point agenda of Monday’s NA session, minister for planning, development and special initiatives will present the General Statistics (Re-Organization) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2022.
The lawmakers will invite attention of the minister for overseas Pakistanis and human resource development regarding non-increase in the pension of EOBI beneficiaries by the government.
In another calling attention notice, the lawmakers will invite attention of the minister for national health services, regulations and coordination regarding non-payment of stipend to Post Graduate Trainees (FCPS), inducted by the PIMS hospital in January, 2022.
