Pakistani Christians celebrate Easter
Pakistani Christian community on Sunday celebrated religious festival of Easter in churches across the country, reported Radio Pakistan.
Special services were hosted at churches countrywide where the minority religious community attended prayers for salvation and for the progress and prosperity of the country.
On the occasion, police arranged special security measures across the country to provide security to members of minority community on the special day.
Leaders greet Christians on the occasion
In a tweet, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended best wishes and greetings to the Christian community in the country and across the world on the occasion of Easter.
“We greatly value & laud the services that our Christian Pakistanis have rendered in all walks of life since the creation of Pakistan. Let us all spread the shared message of peace, inclusivity & love,” the prime minister tweeted.
Former prime minister Imran Khan also extended wishes to the minority community on the religious occasion.
Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in his message on the occasion expressed best wishes to the minority community and said: “May this auspicious occasion prove to be the foundation for the promotion of tolerance, interfaith harmony and peace in the world.”
