Ali Gul Pir drops new love song for “cousins who end up married”
Pakistani rapper and stand-up comedian, Ali Gul Pir, is known for tackling social issues and stereotypes through his music and lyrics that are guaranteed to make the listener laugh-out-loud. He’s done it again with his latest release “Cousin Dhazan” that dropped on Monday which was also Valentine's Day.
“I’ve always found it funny how you grow up with ur cousins, call them bhai or api then one day ur parents decide that u will marry one of em,” he said announcing the release of his song.
It’s “a love song for cousins who grew up together and then ended up marrying each other,” wrote Pir in the caption for the music video on YouTube. The video features Pir and actor Rose Muhammad as his cousin-wife.
Social media users found the song to be “hilarious” and highly “relatable.”
One person can’t wait to play it in the next family wedding.
One person felt compelled to ask a very important question.
But some users weren’t as amused.
“You could do much better,” said one user.
Responding to these messages, one person said, “Cousin Dhazan has offended so many people that I can’t stop myself from laughing on harsh realities spitted by talented Ali Gul Pir.”
