The visit came after an agreement between the protestors and the government was reached yesterday and it was announced that the bodies of the slain coal miners that were awaiting burial as their families staged a sit-in, will be buried.

The premier, during the meeting, offered his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the tragic incident and assured them that the government will stand with the Hazara community.

Lockdown between protestors and the government:

The families of the victims had refused to bury their loved ones until the prime minister meets them and staged a sit-in in the outskirts of Quetta with coffins. The sit-in continued for six days until an agreement was reached after the premier, during a ceremony yesterday to launch the Special Technology Zones Authority in Islamabad, said: "One does not blackmail the prime minister of any country this way."

He urged the Hazara community to not delay burying their loved ones and said he will visit Quetta today if the slain coal miners are buried today.

The Incident:

The tragic incident took place on January 3rd after armed men attacked coal miners at a coal field in Balochistan's Bolan district and killed 10 colliers belonging to the Hazara community.
