According to the statistics provided by the Worldometer, the total global cases have reached 49,019,575, and the coronavirus death tally currently stands at 1,238,892.

  • A record 611,984 new cases were reported across the globe in the last 24 hours.

8,767 new coronavirus-related fatalities globally also made yesterday the deadliest day in the ongoing pandemic.

The five countries that reported the most number of new cases in the past 24 hours are as follows:

Alone, the United States reported a staggering 118,319 new cases in a day.
