Govt's reforms agenda to improve functioning of public departments: Shibli Faraz
ISLAMABAD: Information minister Shibli Faraz has said that the main objective of PTI government is to bring reforms and restructure the public departments.
Speaking in a conversation hosted by Corporate Pakistan group, he said that institutions run the countries but unfortunately past regimes did not work for reforms and redesigning the institutions.
Faraz said that he was not mentally prepared when he was appointed as information minister. "Prime Minister Imran Khan said that you have to bat so I did," he added.
The minister said that the information ministry has crucial role in the government. Its role is not just to inform the public about the initiatives taken by the government but also to get feed back from the people related to the government's initiatives, he added.
He was of the view that the information ministry is responsible to let the government know about the nation's difficulties and problem so that govt tackles it accordingly.
