Ansel Elgort denies allegations of sexual misconduct, says it was a consensual relation

However, the actor regrets the way he broke off things

Hollywood actor, Ansel Elgort, has categorically denied all claims of sexual misconduct made against him by a Twitter user named Gabby on Friday.

Gabby had come forward on Twitter to share that she exchanged messages with the actor just before her 17th birthday. Elgort, in response to her messages, shared his private Snapchat with her and the two continued communicating through the snap application.

Gabby, who choose to keep her surname hidden, penned a lengthy note to share the details of her 'troublesome' encounter with the Baby Drive actor while also sharing that other girls have reached out to her with similar stories.

However, Ansel has a different story to tell. The Fault in Our Stars famed actor took to Instagram to issue a clarification regarding the matter:

“I was distressed to see the social media posts about me that have been circulating in the past 24 hours. I cannot claim to understand Gabby’s feelings but her description of events is simply not what happened,” he said in an official statement and added, "What is true is that in New York in 2014, when I was 20, Gabby and I had a brief, legal and entirely consensual relationship.”

The actor, however, has issued an apology for the way he disappeared on Gabby after the two broke up.

"Unfortunately, I did not handle the breakup well. I stopped responding to her, which is an immature and cruel thing to do to someone,” Ansel wrote, "I know this belated apology does not absolve me of my unacceptable behavior when I disappeared.”
