People having weight issues have a hard time to resist their cravings. Especially when these cravings come in irresistible shapes and colors, and exotic aromas.

The food companies are working on the psychology of buyers, their aim is to attract the customers with yummy ingredients which are mostly not healthy to eat.

So if you are on a run to shed some pounds or you are about to make a lifestyle change, it's important to realize that you have to get rid of junk foods first. Robert Atkins, an American physician, was once recorded saying that everyone would be healthier if they didn't eat junk food.

Our brain has a tendency to rewire our neural connections so it's advised to believe in the fact that 'survival of the fittest' concept is well and truly the only way to live longer. It's also a fact that you can't be fit unless you give up junk food.

So if you want to avoid junk food, here is how you can trick your mind in doing so.

Make healthy food available 

Restock your grocery with healthy stuff, replace candies and stuff with almonds and nuts. Get citrus fruits and raw eatable veggies. So next time you are craving a junk food item, eat something healthy to divert your mind. Also, if junk food is not available, you won't be able to binge on it.

Chew well!

Another trick is to chew your food well enough. Use your whole palate for one bite at a time, don't just throw food right into your esophagus. Use your teeth to chew every ounce of the bite. Prepare your own meal

Plan your own meal and make them yourself, this will allow yourself to take responsibility for what you are eating. It will also lead you to avoid processed foods. Plan your meals beforehand, so that you won't have to think about what to eat next, as a result, you will be less tempted.
