Pakistan has strongly rejected remarks of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs over comments by the Pakistani leadership regarding minorities' rights in India.

The Foreign Office spokesperson in a press release termed the remarks irresponsible and completely ill-founded

It further said treatment with minorities in India is a matter of serious concern not only for the minorities and the neighboring countries but also for the international community.

The spokesperson advised India to take effective steps to protect the fundamental rights of minorities especially Muslims in the country.
