Sindh education authorities decided that the new academic year in the province will start from June 1.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi Minister for Education Saeed Ghani said the government is taking all the necessary steps to contain the coronavirus spread, The meeting was convened to decide the changes in the academic calendar after the provincial cabinet announced to extend vacations in all educational institutions till May 31.

“1st to 8th classes exams will be held from June 1 to June 15. After the results, students will be promoted to the next classes, said Ghani.

Whereas 9th and matric examination will be held from 15th June 2020, and the matric result will be announced on 15 August, “Exams of 11^th and 12^th grade will be held from July 06. The new year of intermediate will begin from August 2020. The result of intermediate examinations will be declared on September 15. Examinations of all grades will take place as per the new schedule,” he added.

Ghani said that the new year of intermediate will begin from August, 2020.

Earlier, it was mistakenly reported that the students would be promoted without exams.
