“This Sunday, thinking of giving up my social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram& YouTube. I will keep you all posted,” Modi wrote.
Indian PM has currently 53 million followers on Twitter, 44 million on Facebook, 35.2 million on Instagram and 4.5 million on Google’s video platform.
The Indian PM has not mentioned any reason as to why he is leaving social media.
As per critics, leaving social media would further distant Indian PM from wide swathes of issues including riots, protests, restlessness, growing unemployment, and economic instability.
At least forty people were killed and dozens were injured in Delhi’s anti-Muslim protests last week.
