Flood, land sliding feared as monsoon rains continue in parts of country

LAHORE: The intermittent monsoon rain has continued to wreck havoc in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Sindh and Kashmir.

According to details, major breakdown was witnessed in Karachi’s Azizabad, Ayesha Manzil and other areas after tripping of K-Electric system. The rain water has also inundated low-lying areas in aforementioned areas.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated widespread rains/wind-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) is expected in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, D.I khan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Zhob divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir, while at scattered places in Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, at isolated places in Kalat, Multan, Bahawalpur, Karachi, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Sh. Benazirabad divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan.
