Karachi Music Festival to begin on Friday

KARACHI: A three-day "Karachi Music Festival" will kick off on Friday at the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) Karachi.

The festival will be inaugurated at 8pm on November 24 and it will continue till November 26, said a statement issued here on Thursday.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will be the chief guest on the first day of the festival.

The festival features classical, gazal, pop, rock, filmy and non-film songs with singers Humaira Channa, Hina Nasrullah, Salman Alvi, Karam Abbas Khan, Ghulam Abbas, Ustad Hamid Ali Khan, Zafar Ramey, Ishtiaq Bashir, Ikhlaq Bashir, Fateh Ali Khan (Hyderabad-wale), Imran Abbas, Farhat Niaz, Kamran Sgho, Aasma, Mazhar Amraa, Mohammed Ali, Abid Hussain and others on stage.

President, ACP, Mohammed Ahmed Shah said that the ACP is trying its best to promote cultural activities of Karachi and they have succeeded to some extent.

He said that singers from across the country have been specially made the part of this festival and they have endeavored to improve the festival than the last-year.

He hoped that the festival will be a big music festival in the history of the metropolis.—APP
