Imran Khan files petition in SC seeking merger of FATA in KPK
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC) for the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
President Mamnoon Hussain, Ministry of Law, Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) and FATA Secretariat have been made the respondents of the petition.
The petition further said that KP government has fulfilled all its constitutional responsibilities and is ready for the merger. KP Assembly has already passed a resolution regarding FATA-KP merger and PTI has raised this issue on every forum before contacting the apex court, said the application.—APP
