Terming the press conference by four top government ministers a 'surrender ceremony' to "announce a war on Supreme Court and the military," Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday said that any attempt to make joint investigation team's (JIT) report controversial would be resolutely resisted.

Soon after a press conference by four close aides of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said "the time to raise objections on JIT is over.

"Where were you when there was ample time to make objections on the formation of JIT? Now when the 60-day deadline for the JIT to submit its probe is going to be over, you are coming forward and saying that JIT report will not be accepted if it does not carry the recorded statement of the Qatari prince," he questioned.

Fawad along with other senior PTI leaders said when the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in fact had time to raise objections on JIT, it was busy eating and distributing 'laddoos' (sweets), adding that "this was the reason the PTI had called upon them to read the translated version of the SC verdict on the Panama Leaks."

In the same breath, he urged the Supreme Court: "We urge the apex court to give its ruling on the matter as the whole nation awaits its judgment. The whole nation and all the state institutions stand behind the judiciary and the JIT."

"There was a time when Altaf Hussain also used to get votes at gun point under the pretext of people's mandate, and if you are thinking on the same lines, it is your wishful thinking as you have been badly exposed before the masses as nobody is going to vote for you again," he maintained.

About the government's objection why Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) were made part of the JIT, he said the PML-N should have raised this issue only when the JIT was being formed. The PTI spokesman said that 'Nawaz Sharif and Co' had remained part of every conspiracy during the last three decades.

"Now when it has become clear to them that the game is over because they have miserably failed to give any evidence to the JIT, they want to become political martyrs, which we will not allow. The state institutions know who is right and who is wrong, so the Sharifs must know that this time all of their tricks are going to backfire," he added.
