Former President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday criticised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's poor National Assembly attendance record.

Addressing an event in Moro, the PPP co-chairman said the premier had attended only four sessions of the assembly in the past four years whereas the late Prime Minister Mohammad Khan Junejo attended more sessions than the incumbent prime minister.

Zardari said such a precedent would only encourage future leaders to pay little or no respect to the National Assembly insofar as one's attendance in the lower house is concerned. Addressing party workers in Naushahro Feroze, he said Nawaz Sharif would not have become the prime minister of Pakistan had PPP not made amendment in the constitution. "Nawaz Sharif could have only managed to become the president", he said.

Asif Ali Zardari said the country's foreign policy has weakened a lot, and Nawaz Sharif is losing diplomatic as well as democratic battles. Zardari said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and he (Zardari) promoted friendship with China and no country has any objection over CPEC except "the friendly country of Nawaz Sharif - India."

He said Kashmir is their own cause and pointed out that India has already occupied Nagaland and Sikkim but regretted that the world has ignored the India's aggressive designs. On the contrary, he said the world sees Modi hugging Trump while our Prime Minister is playing with animals in Murree.

He urged the Prime Minister to appoint a full-fledged foreign minister as "we are losing diplomatic war." The former President said the future leaders of PPP would be Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asifa Zardari. He said whenever his two daughters tweet, he gives serious considerations to their views and reconsider decisions on joining of any person in the party, a reference to Irfanullah Khan Marwat.

The former president also lashed out at those PPP leaders joining Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and said "dirty eggs keep on shifting places." He said he was sure that Imran Khan will never give party tickets to them. Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Co-Chairman claimed that his party will win the next general elections. He said Pakistan has all the resources "but we lack brains." He said the future of Pakistan is in the hands of People's Party.
