The outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, Saturday confirmed its lost two men and three others were injured after they launched an overnight attack on a Pakistani border post.

The army confirmed the late Friday attack on a border post in Mohmand tribal agency.

"Pakistani troops at post effectively responded to render the fire ineffective," the military said. The terrorists fled back to Afghanistan, the statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations said.

The army statement did not say anything about the casualties. However, spokesman for the TTP JA group Asad Mansoor said two of its fighters were killed and three injured in clashes with the Pakistani troops. Pakistani security officials say that militants of the Pakistani armed groups, who have fled to Afghanistan as the result of major military operations in the tribal regions, now operate from the Afghan side of the border.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman Nafees Zakaria said last week that the terrorist elements enter Pakistan from Afghanistan through the porous border. The spokesman said at his weekly briefing that Pakistan has taken stringent measures to control this movement and has always insisted on effective border management and have instituted border control mechanisms to this effect. The TTP JA claimed that its fighters attacked three Pakistan army posts at same time in Mohmand agency's Bayzai and that the clashes continued for two hours. Mansoor claimed inflicting losses on the Pakistani forces. The TTP JA replaced its long-term spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan and appointed Asad Mansoor as new spokesman.
