Sanjay Leela Bhansali assaulted on sets of Padmavati
WEB DESK: National award winner, famous Indian director Sanjay Leela Bhansali was punched and slapped on the sets of his forthcoming movie 'Padmavati' in Jaipur on Friday.Â
The movie stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor were not present at the time of incident. But the protesters caught Sanjay not only they punched and slapped him but destroyed film making equipment too.
According to The Indian Express, the protesters were same who protested back at the shooting of Jodha Akbar. They protested because the film is portraying wrong facts about Padmavati and such distortion of historic facts will not be accepted.
Karan Johar tweeted in the support of director that he has been through such instances during shootings and that he understands Sanjay's emotion.
Having been through many instances of turmoil during a film shoot or release...i understand Sanjay's emotion at this point...I stand by him.

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, maker of (Jodha Akhbar) supported the director and took his twitter.

However, the police was called immediately and troublemakers were arrested too but the shooting of the film has been halted for short time.
