Fire erupts at Gadani shipbreaking yard
HUB: A ship at Gadani ship-breaking yard on Monday (Today) caught fire that was parked on plot 60 of the yard in Hub, Aaj News reported.Â
According to the police officials, More than 100 workers were present on the ship when the fire broke out. 70 workers have been rescued from life rafting boats.  Fortunately, no casualty has been reported yet.
The same ship had caught fire in December last year, sources said. Â That fire had been extinguished without any loss of life reported.
In November 2016, at least 26 people lost their lives and more than 50 others were wounded in the incident when a gas cylinder exploded and started a fire inside an oil tanker at the Gadani yard.
A high-level committee was also formed by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to investigate the causes of the fire.
