Foreign Office has said that Turkish authorities have rescued six abducted Pakistanis from the custody of captors on Wednesday.

According to Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria, the Turkish police authorities confirmed to the Consulate General of Pakistan in Istanbul that after necessary action, they have rescued six kidnapped Pakistanis.

Those who were rescued included Fazal Amin, Adil Ahmad, Muhammad Zeeshan, Abid, Usman Ali and Ashbar Ahmad who were kept in captivity by their captors for ransom.

He said that the Turkish authorities are now completing the legal formalities to deal with the case and the Consulate officials are in contact with the police authorities and have sought access to the rescued Pakistanis.

"We express our gratitude to the Turkish government and the relevant authorities for their timely action and co-operation in the matter," he added.

Earlier, a disturbing video of the abducted Pakistanis went viral on social media in which their captors were seen torturing the half-naked Pakistanis in Istanbul while authorities in Pakistan have also made some arrests related to the matter.
