Khan attended groundbreaking ceremony of SKMH
KARACHI: The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek -i-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan attended the groundbreaking ceremony of third Shaukat Khanum Cancer hospital today (Thursday) in DHA city (Karachi), Aaj News reported.Â
According to reports, while addressing to the ceremony, Khan said,"I realized how expensive cancer treatment is when I took my mother out for cancer treatment".
Khan lauded all the people who funded Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital over the years adding,"It is the outcome of prolonged endeavors".
"Previously Punjab government tried to establish a Cancer Hospital but failed and the cause of failure behind it was the current Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif", said Khan reportedly.
Sources further revealed that around 75% patients are treated free of cost in Shaukat Khanum. Khan announced that the Shaukat Khanum in Karachi will operate from 2019, medicines and meals will be free for patients.
The Chief of PTI is expected to participate in other political activities as well.
Sources revealed that Khan will visit District membership camp and the chief will visit Junaid Jamshed's house at 7 p.m. who died in plane crash incident with his wife on 7th December 2016.
