Former president Asif Ali Zardari has accused Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of putting the national security at stake by energy deals with Qatar.

Aaj News reported on Tuesday that Zardari expressed these views while speaking at a public meeting of the supporters of Pakistan People''s Party on the 9th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bux (Larkana).

"In case of a conventional war, supply lines could be disconnected or affected and in that scenario, entire Pakistan will have to depend upon one person in Qatar," he said elaborating how Nawaz Sharif threatened national security of Pakistan.

Zardari further said that his PPP government had struck deal with Iran and Iranian gas and oil were cheaper as compared to Qatar''s.

He also criticised Nawaz Sharif''s relations with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he had dinner with Modi, shared tweet with him and also visited India to meet Modi who had not respected Pakistan''s representatives.

Zardari also alerted the government on the negative impacts of all this on Kashmiri friends and children?
