Need to design programmes to promote Quaid's vision: Marriyum
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that educational institutions in general and universities in particular need to design programmes to promote vision of country's Founding Father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Â
Addressing an event at Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU), here on Friday in connection with birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Aurangzeb said that the great leader waged a democratic struggle for creation of Pakistan and every Pakistani should remember his efforts in this regard.
She said that Quaid-e-Azam gave the message of unity, faith and discipline in order to confront all the challenges.
The minister pointed out that 55 universities have endorsed the subject of parliamentary studies, while nine universities have already started teaching it. Aurangzeb said she is confident that the programme will help create a linkage between the youth and Parliament.
The minister further said the weeklong celebrations of Quaid's birth anniversary are aimed at reviving the spirit of the Freedom Movement.
The minister said, "We need to reaffirm our commitments that each one of us is Pakistani and a representative of an independent and stable Pakistan."
She said the government has taken special initiatives to celebrate the Quaid's birth anniversary to inculcate teachings and determination of Quaid in the youth.
