The inside story of the government's decisions and steps to counter the November 2 planned sit-in by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf came to surface.

According to sources, the government had started to evolve a strategy for countering and foiling the sit-in soon after its announcement by PTI Chairman, Imran Khan on September 30 at a public meeting in Raiwind.

In a high-level consultative meeting held with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in chair, all the responsibilities were given to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

In the meeting some leaders suggested to allow the PTI members in Islamabad but Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan strongly opposed the suggestion and said that the 2014 episode could not be repeated.

The government had already decided not to arrest PTI Chairman, Imran Khan and AML Chairman Sheikh Rashid Ahmad. However, Chaudhry Nisar faced strong pressure for their arrest as some high profile PML-N leaders insisted for their arrest.
