Government to follow Supreme Court's verdict on PTI sit-in, minister
Advising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan to give up the policy of 'Main Na Manu', Federal Minister for Defence Production, and Science and Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain said on Monday that the government had the authority to take anybody into custody on doubts of being involved in any unlawfully activity.
He was talking to media here on Monday after addressing a seminar on "Standards Build Trust" arranged by the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
Rana Tanveer said the government would follow the Supreme Court's verdict on PTI sit-in in letter and spirit. He added the government is duty bound to maintain peace anywhere in the country and would not let some people to disturb law and order situation.
Rana further said that Imran Khan was trying to pressurise important departments including courts, FIA, police and anti-corruption as statements of the PTI leaders were on record in this regard. When asked about Imran Khan's statement to continue protest till death, Rana Tanveer prayed for his long life.
To another query, Rana said the government and army were on same page and all the matters were moving in the right direction.
