Police 'recovers' 5 Kalashnikovs from PTI minister near Bani Gala
ISLAMABAD: Police on Sunday claimed to have recovered five Kalashnikov rifles, bullet proof jackets, tear gas shells and ammunition from a vehicle of Pakistan Tehreek—Insaaf lawmaker Ali Amin Gandapur, Aaj Tv reported.
Gandapur , also a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s revenue minister, was heading to the residence of PTI chairman Imran Khan in Bani Gala, when police intercepted his vehicle for checking.
According to media reports, the provincial minister rejected the police claim and said he had two licensed Kalashnikovs in his vehicle.
Another PTI’s Shereen Mazari, while talking to media, alleged that police is trying to malign the party before the planned lockdown in Islamabad on Nov 2.
She said that such tactics by the government are only encouraging the party workers, who are gearing for the protest against Prime Minister Nawaz Shrif.
