Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Monday urged the Supreme Court to hear its plea seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and others from Parliament for allegedly concealing assets on account of Panama Papers.
On August 28, Hamid Khan and Naeem Bukhari had filed a constitutional petition on behalf of the PTI Chairman Imran Khan under Article 184 (3) of the Constitution making Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) through its Chairman, Federation of Pakistan through Secretary Law, Federal Interior Secretary, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) through its Chairman, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Hussain Nawaz Sharif, Hassan Nawaz Sharif, Captain Retd Muhammad Safdar, Member National Assembly, Senator & Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar as respondents.
Filing an application for early hearing of the petition through Advocate-on-Record Akhtar Ali Chaudhry, the PTI claimed that questions arising out of Panama Leaks have attained not only national importance but have also attained importance at international level.
On behalf of the PTI, the AoR prayed that entire public of Pakistan is interested in the decision of the Panama Leaks case and is looking forward for early disposal of the case so the matter may be fixed for hearing on any date during the week commencing from October 17, 2016.
