KARACHI: Eidul Fitr is being celebrated throughout the country with great fervour and zeal today.

It is after many years that the month of fasting began all over the country on same day and Eid is also being celebrated today simultaneously through out the country.

Eid congregations are being held at open places‚ mosques and Eidgahs in all major cities, towns and villages of the country.

In their sermons, Ulema and religious scholars are highlighting the significance and philosophy of Eidul Fitr and the need to share its joys with the poor.

Special prayers would also be offered for security, progress and prosperity of the country.

In Islamabad, main Eid congregation is being held at Faisal Mosque.

Meanwhile‚ security has been beefed up in different parts of the country including the federal capital to avoid any untoward incident on the auspicious occasion. Snap checking and patrolling by law enforcing agencies have been increased. - Radio Pakistan
